Approvals
The Approvals page is a single place to handle decisions that are waiting on you. It brings together two kinds of work:
- Ticket approvals awaiting your decision, and
- Project access requests for projects you manage.
Approvals lives in the Work section of the sidebar. (The older, separate Access Requests menu item has been removed — everything is unified here.)
Ticket approvals
Some tickets require sign-off before they can proceed. When a ticket enters the approval workflow, it surfaces on the Approvals page for the people who need to act on it.
For each pending ticket approval you can:
- Approve — sign off so the ticket can move forward, or
- Deny — reject the request.
Project access requests
Restricted projects are not open to everyone. A user who needs access to a restricted project can request it, including:
- an optional note explaining why they need access, and
- a requested role —
viewer,contributor, ormanager.
The request then appears on the Approvals page for that project's manager, who reviews it and either approves or denies it. Approving grants the requester the role they asked for (or the role the manager decides on).
Tracking your own requests
If you are the one asking for access, you do not watch the Approvals page — that page is for reviewers. Instead, track the status of your own pending requests on the My Access Requests tab in My Work.
Tips
- Use the note field on an access request to give the manager context — it speeds up the decision.
- Request the lowest role that lets you do your work; you can always ask for more later.
- Check Approvals regularly if you manage projects or sign off on tickets, so nothing waits on you.
